Wayne Rooney is returning to England with his family to reside in his £20 million “Morrisons mansion,” which has a full-size football pitch, two fishing lakes, a theater, and a pool.
The Manchester United and England legend has been named Birmingham City’s next manager, succeeding the dismissed John Eustace at St Andrews.
Wayne, Coleen, and the remainder of the Rooney family moved into their dream home in 2021.
Their £20 million Cheshire home was called the ‘Morrisons mansion’ during development.
The property lies on a massive 40 acres of land, with two fishing lakes, a cinema, and pool.
Rooney is reported to have paid over £4 million to a Cheshire property developer to build the gated mansion (!).
He had been living with his coaching staff in Washington, while his wife Coleen and their four sons, Kai, Klay, Kit, and Cass, stayed in England.
However, after joining the Tom Brady-backed Blues, he will have complete support from his family when he returns home to join them full-time at their magnificent Cheshire estate.
Rooney, 37, and Coleen, also 37, have a sizable property portfolio that includes residences in Florida, the Caribbean, and throughout the United Kingdom.
The jewel in the crown is their six-bedroom £20 million palatial home on a 40-acre plot of land.
The family moved into the house, which was built from scratch.

Rooney is believed to be an avid angler.
Neighbors have previously mocked the property for its size and style, comparing it to a Morrisons supermarket.
However, unlike Morrisons, it now has an orangery, bar, TV lounge, snooker room, theater, and wine cellar.
The luxurious Rooney pad also has a large indoor swimming pool encircled by a glass pavilion, a hot tub, plunge pool, steam room, and “his” and “hers” changing rooms.
In addition to its impressive features, the property includes a spacious patio, beautifully landscaped gardens, and a luxury car garage.
Rooney reportedly invested over £4 million with a Cheshire property developer to construct the mansion, which is equipped with a guest toilet and separate lifts. The second lift conveniently connects the main living area to the basement, which houses an expansive gym, pool, Jacuzzi, and cinema room.
The decision to build their dream home came in the wake of a 2016 break-in attempt at Rooney’s Cheshire residence, which was thwarted by police.
Having grown up in a council house in Liverpool, Rooney has demonstrated his real estate acumen with his lavish villa in Barbados, which he rents for £25,000 per week. He also purchased a waterfront apartment in Florida for £320,000 in 2007 and acquired a £450,000 detached home in Liverpool for his parents.
Now, he and Coleen, whose combined worth is estimated at around £115 million, own properties worldwide after starting their relationship at age 16.
Rooney rose through the ranks at his boyhood club Everton as a teenager and made a name for himself with England at Euro 2004, leading to a high-profile transfer to Manchester United. Under Sir Alex Ferguson, he won the Champions League and five Premier League titles.
He broke Sir Bobby Charlton’s scoring records for both Manchester United and England, although the latter record has since been surpassed by Harry Kane.
In 2017, Rooney made a heartfelt return to Everton, finishing the season as the club’s top scorer, before moving to the MLS to play for DC United. During his time in America, he scored 23 goals in 48 matches but later returned to England to join Championship side Derby County in a surprising move for the 2020/21 season.
