MARCUS RASHFORD looked downcast as he was seen leaving Manchester United’s training ground following a revealing interview in which he expressed a desire to leave Old Trafford.
The 27-year-old striker was photographed in the back seat of a chauffeur-driven Bentley as he departed from United’s Carrington facility. He was also spotted in the same vehicle heading home the day before.
Currently serving a six-month driving ban, Rashford attempted to avoid cameras, sitting in the back of the tinted car with his hood up. The Manchester United star acquired the new £200,000 Flying Spur Azure to ensure comfortable travel to training.
An onlooker noted, “Marcus looked very glum, as though he is carrying the weight of the world on his shoulders.”
Earlier this month, Rashford indicated he was “ready for a new challenge” shortly after being omitted from manager Ruben Amorim’s squad for the Derby day match against Manchester City on December 15. He stated, “Personally, I think I’m ready for a new challenge and the next steps,” but has since been left out of the last four matchday squads. United faces Newcastle tomorrow.
Since making his debut in 2016, Rashford has scored 138 goals in 426 appearances for the club, having risen through the United academy. He signed a lucrative £350,000-a-week contract after netting 30 goals in the 2022-23 season, but has struggled to find his form this year, scoring only four times so far.
