Former 6MOY ranks LeBron James and Kevin Durant below MVP candidate

LeBron James has been a top-10 player – at worst – for more than two decades. This time, however, that streak might come to an end.

The Los Angeles Lakers star is still a great player, but with a new guard of players taking over, he might not be able to crack the top anymore.

At least, that’s how Lou Williams and Chandler Parsons feel about him right now. In a segment before recording FanDuel’s ‘Run It Back,’ they ranked multiple players above both James and Kevin Durant.

They think they’re better than Giannis Antetokounmpo right now, but they wound up taking Shai Gilgeous-Alexander as the current best player in the league.

Of course, that’s just how things are supposed to be, and the fact that James was a part of the conversation at this point in his career speaks volumes about his greatness.

Dwyane Wade wants to see LeBron James and Bronny playing more

James is no longer capable of single-handedly leading a team to contention. That’s why his former teammate and close friend, Dwyane Wade, believes the Los Angeles Lakers should forget about trying to compete and give the people a show instead:

“The habits that are being built to create the culture JJ [Redick] is trying to establish with his coaching style are promising,” Wade said in the latest edition of his podcast. “But let’s be real—we want to see Bronny. This is not a championship team; it’s not a championship roster at this point.”

Wade doubled down on his take by stating that since the Lakers can’t compete at the highest level, they might as well give the fans what they want to see:

“Honestly, bring Bronny up. We want to see that. I think Paul Pierce said it recently too: I want to see LeBron and Bronny connecting on a lob. I tune into the Lakers this season to see that,” Wade said.“When I look at the Lakers, I want Anthony Davis to have an MVP-type year. As a fan, I’d love to see LeBron continue playing at the high level he’s capable of. And, honestly, I want to see him and Bronny do their thing together on the court.”

Of course, Wade also wants Bronny to get more playing time, so we could take his words with a grain of salt. But if the Lakers get past the trade deadline without making moves and slide in the standings, they might want to go that route.
