Manchester United has set its sights on Joao Gomes.

The Wolves midfielder could step in for Casemiro this summer.

United is anticipated to part ways with the experienced Brazilian this summer, as new manager Sir Jim Ratcliffe aims to build a younger team.

Casemiro, 32, has already been sidelined for 16 matches this season due to injury, and he will miss the game against England this weekend because of further fitness issues.

Ironically, Gomes might represent Brazil instead of Casemiro at Wembley Stadium, earning his first international cap.

According to The Mirror, he may be lined up to replace Casemiro at Manchester United.

Gomes is exactly the type of player Ratcliffe would pursue, having previously warned fans not to expect big signings. João Gomes on X: “Good morning” (X)

Wolves are seemingly preparing for offers and have already identified possible replacements.

The club may be forced to sell a key player at the end of the season due to pressures related to Profit and Sustainability Regulations.
