Kylian Mbappe was forced off with injury after just 35 minutes of Real Madrid’s clash against Atalanta on Tuesday night.
The Madrid star started brightly in the Champions League tie and opened the scoring with a strike in the 10th minute after slipping in behind the opposing defence.
However his evening was cut short in the 36th minute when he went down holding his thigh before being substituted off shortly afterwards.
It’s now been reported by The Athletic that the forward will undergo a scan on his thigh as Madrid assess the severity of his injury.
Carlo Ancelotti will be hopeful that the forward remains at his disposal – with Madrid already missing David Alaba, Dani Carvajal, Eder Militao and Eduardo Camavinga.
Shortly after the forward went off, the hosts struck back through Charles De Ketelaere on the stroke of half-time to give Carlo Ancelotti further to think about at the break.

However, the veteran Italian helped inspire them to grab two goals through Jude Bellingham and Vinicius Jr after half-time.
It wasn’t plain sailing for Los Blancos however and the hosts fired back again in the 65th minute through Ademola Lookman to set up a nervy finish.
In the end, Madrid held on to secure a vital three points which sees them move up to 18th in the Champions League table.
Mbappe his seen a significant upturn in form since he reportedly held talks with some of Real Madrid’s key players following a 2-1 recent defeat to Athletic Bilbao.
The 25-year-old is said to have admitted his shortcomings so far this season and vowed to show his true self going forward.
Mbappe insisted that he wants to be a leader of the project as the team bids to find the form of last season.
His comments are said to have been well received by the Los Blancos hierarchy, who expected this kind of attitude when he arrived.
The criticism of Mbappe has not been solely focused on his output but also his demeanor on the pitch, fans claiming he looks disinterested and lacking in work rate at times.
His goals against Atalanta and Girona mean that the forward has now scored 12 goals from 22 appearances in his debut season with the Spanish giants.

Mbappe also recently opened up on his departure from PSG, picking out where he thinks things went wrong at his former club, the ‘obsession’ with winning the Champions League – and his parting words with the Emir of Qatar.
‘PSG, the club meant a lot to me,’ Mbappe began in an interview with Clique on Canal+.
‘I spent seven years, it’s a super intense place, in the good and the bad. I spent seven extraordinary years. Maybe the mistake I made was that I mixed everything up.
‘I had conflicts with people, I defended my rights as a player, but that didn’t represent the club. I never mixed everything up with the players, the people at the Campus, the people on staff.’
