“A Heart for Children”: Toni Kroos receives the Golden Heart 2024
On December 7th, 2024 live on ZDF / donation hotline 01802 101010
Toni Kroos will receive the honorary award from the BILD aid organization at the big TV gala “A Heart for Children” next Saturday evening, December 7th, 2024 (8:15 p.m., live on ZDF): The “Golden Heart”.
Since 2015, the soccer world champion has been committed to helping seriously ill children with the Toni Kroos Foundation: their families receive quick and unbureaucratic support when special wishes are to be fulfilled, or therapies and aids are to be financed that can make their often difficult lives a little easier. Toni Kroos bears the costs for the foundation privately.

Toni Kroos: “It is incredibly important that we are socially committed. Because I believe that we have to create a certain balance between people who are doing well and those who have a difficult start in life.”
Sarah Majorczyk, 1st Chair of BILD hilft e.V. “Ein Herz für Kinder”: “Toni Kroos is not only a superstar in sport – he is also one for the many children he helps with his foundation. Often in silence. We at ‘Ein Herz für Kinder’ would like to say THANK YOU all the louder – with the Golden Heart 2024.”
During the fundraising broadcast, presenter Johannes B. Kerner, together with more than 80 prominent guests from society, sport, politics, show business and social media, will present national and international aid projects and personally accept donations for children in need over the phone.
“For millions of viewers, this gala is an integral part of Advent. A time when you also think about how difficult things are for others: poverty, illness, war – children in particular are often exposed to this without protection and need our help. ‘Ein Herz für Kinder’ is a show that really helps and I’m looking forward to many emotional moments and great guests,” says Johannes B. Kerner.

About BILD hilft e.V. “Ein Herz für Kinder”
The international aid organization BILD hilft e.V. “Ein Herz für Kinder” based in Hamburg has existed for 46 years. So far, the association has been able to support over 25,000 projects with 511 million euros. In 2024 alone, 641,786 needy children in Germany and around the world were helped. What’s special: every cent of a donation goes directly and without deductions to children’s aid projects. There are no deductions for personnel and administrative costs. These are covered by Axel Springer. About half of the financial aid for children in need goes to Germany, the other half abroad. The association supports medical research projects and operations, builds schools, daycare centers and children’s clinics, helps children in war and disaster areas and supports disadvantaged families in Germany. In addition, “Ein Herz für Kinder” has been committed to equal opportunities for two years and is therefore increasingly supporting national educational projects.
