His arrival in the country saw an influx of talent into the country’s domestic league and he has also brought in off-the-field talent to the country to watch the games.

His contract with the club expires in the summer of 2025, and the club will be keen to tie down their biggest star to an extended contract before his deal expires.
Late Steven Bergwiijn strike sentences Al-Nassr to defeat despite Cristiano Ronaldo’s goal
Al-Nassr fell to a late defeat away against Al-Ittihad in the Saudi Pro-League despite Cristiano Ronaldo getting on the scoresheet. The win sees the hosts cement their place at the top of the league table with 36 points from 13 games.
The hosts opened the scoring in the second half through Ronaldo’s former Real Madrid teammate Karim Benzema in the 55th minute. Muhannad Shanqeeti assisted the Frenchman after getting the ball in the box after a fast break.
The five-time Ballon d’Or winner restored parity for the sides two minutes later with his 57th-minute strike. Cristiano Ronaldo extended his tally at the top of the football world with a right-footed shot after linking up with former Chelsea star Angelo Gabriel.
The match looked set for a draw, but former Ajax and Tottenham Hotspur forward Steven Bergwijn decided the game with a goal in the first minute of added time. Mario Mitaj set up the Dutchman just inside the box, and his shot found its way into the back of the net to sentence the visitors to their second loss of the campaign.
Al-Nassr will be keen to make amends for their loss in their next game, a league clash against Al-Akhdoud on January 9. The side currently sits in fourth place on the table, 11 points behind Al-Ittihad.
