Manchester United defeated Bodo/Glimt 3-2 as Ruben Amorim made his Old Trafford debut.
The Red Devils got off to a great start when Alejandro Garnacho scored after only 48 seconds.
Rasmus Hojlund scored twice as Ruben Amorim gained his first win as manager.Tyrell Malacia struggled on his comeback from injury, but Bodo/Glimt responded with two quick goals before Rasmus Hojlund’s double put the Norwegians away.
Here’s how SunSport graded the players’ performances as they adapted to Amorim’s system.
ANDRE ONANA – 6
Lucky to stay on after his wild run out of the area resulted in the ball hurting his hand, he was relieved when VAR let him off.
NOUSSAIR MAZRAOUI – 7.
Asked to take on a more prominent role than he did under Erik ten Hag. Crucial contribution to United’s equaliser
MATTHIJS DE LIGT – 6.
He could have communicated more quickly for the visitors, or he could have been caught between two ideas. Hauled off midway in the second half.

LISANDRO MARTINEZ – 6
Returning from injury may require some time to adjust to Amorim’s new system. Shaw replaced him on the hour.
A fresh start under the new boss, but he’ll need to do more if he wants to get back in the game.
Manuel Ugarte – 7.
The Uruguayan has previously played under Amorim and appears to be at ease in the new system. Teed up Hojlund’s second of the evening.
BRUNO FERNANDES – 6
Despite a handful of missed opportunities, the Portuguese have the potential to grow under the new leader.
TYRELL MALACIA – 5
Back from a 17-month injury nightmare, and completely outpaced for the second goal. Did not reappear in the second half.
Mason Mount – 7
Super curler against the bar early in the second half, followed by a wonderful flip to set up United’s third goal. More like it from the ex-England player.
ALEJANDRO GARNACHO – 7
He scored the simplest goal of his career to give United an early lead, and he should have had a couple more.
RASMUS HOJLUND – 8
Harried the keeper to set up the early goal before scoring a pair of his own, the first of which was a great beauty. Nice Gladiator celebration, too. A big thumbs-up.
SUBS:
DALOT for Malacia: 46 – 6.
Added to the home team’s defensive confidence.
RASHFORD for Mount 59—5
Blazed one decent effort wide as United only wanted to win the game.
SHAW for Martinez: 60 – 5.
Second appearance off the bench as he works his way back to fitness.
AMAD for Antony: 59 – 5.
On a few times, the visitors’ keeper denied my request.
CASEMIRO voor De Ligt 66, 5
I was asked to drop into the backline, and the game ended on a testy note.
