Ruben Amorim, the new manager of Manchester United, is staying at a fancy hotel known for hosting celebrities such as Rita Ora and Lady Gaga.
Amorim has a room in the five-star Lowry in Salford, Greater Manchester, which is a short drive from United’s Old Trafford stadium.
The Portuguese coach was driven there first thing in the morning in a black people carrier to the Premier League giant’s Carrington training facility.
The 39-year-old is following in the footsteps of his buddy and fellow Portuguese Jose Mourinho, who stayed at the luxurious hotel for a whopping 895 days while managing United.
However, it is unlikely that Amorim will run up a £500,000 bill like The Special One.
The former Sporting Lisbon manager is reportedly looking for a home in Manchester to relocate with his wife Maria João Diogo and their two sons.
Ruben Amorim is continuing to ease into life as Manchester United’s manager.
The Portuguese coach has chosen the Lowry in Salford as his temporary home.
The luxurious five-star hotel offers accommodations for up to £4,000 per night.
A number of celebrities have chosen to stay at the Lowry when visiting Manchester.
A United source stated, ‘Amorim wants to bring his family over and set up their own home.
‘The Hale and Bowdon region, which is home to his captain Fernandez and several of the players, has been discussed. It is only a short drive to the training ground.
‘He may move into Ten Haag’s former home or even Paul Pogba’s. However, he is currently in the Lowry. He has walked about the city and had coffee at a few cafés.
‘Perhaps he’ll run meet Pep Guardiola or a couple City players who live close.’
The Lowry is located on the boundary of Salford and Manchester, with the city only a few minutes’ walk away.
It also has the most expensive hotel suite in Greater Manchester, the Presidential Suite, which costs £4,000 per night.
It is popular among celebrities such as Take That, Australian singer Kylie Minogue, Alesha Dixon, and Wicked star Ariana Grande.
The hotel was also the first in the UK to provide in-room facial cosmetic treatments to clients.
The Lowry sits on the border between Salford and Manchester, with the city a few minutes walk away.
It contains the most costly hotel suite in Greater Manchester, the Presidential Suite.
The Presidential suite has a wide and comfortable living space that includes a piano.
The 165-room Lowry is widely used by United, with the club block booking tens of rooms every night before each home game.
Players each have their own double, and United’s managers frequently have team meetings there.
Former manager Louis Van Gaal spent so much time there talking to his players that club officials would often search the hotel for listening devices.
Amorim’s debut game against Ipswich Town ended in a 1-1 draw on Sunday afternoon.
His team got off to a great start at Portman Road, with Marcus Rashford scoring his sixth goal of the season just 80 seconds in.
Amorim will be hoping for his first win as United boss against Bodo/Glimt on Thursday.
However, they were pulled back when Omari Hutchinson netted a magnificent goal in the top corner.
His first post-match interview as head coach with Sky Sports was embarrassingly interrupted by Ipswich fan Ed Sheeran pitchside following the draw.
The pop artist approached pundit Jamie Redknapp and stated, ‘I don’t think he (Amorim) wants to speak to me’.
The new United manager shook his head, leaving Sheeran unimpressed, adding, ‘I enjoy being back in the Premier League’.
