Antony put a big tattoo on his back of himself enjoying the goal he scored for Ajax after failing to make it to Manchester United. The fans are furious about this.
Bruno Lopes, a tattoo artist, posted a picture of the 24-year-old Brazilian winger getting the tattoo on Instagram.
He scored a late goal against Feyenoord in 2022 that made it possible for his team to win the AFC title. He’s having fun in this picture.
That goal was very important for Erik ten Hag’s Ajax team. They won the title by two points over Manchester United.
Ten Hag then moved to Manchester United in the summer of 2015, and Antony paid £85.5 million to leave Ajax and join United.
Not on the field, though—charges hurt his good start to the season.
Since then, he hasn’t done well. In 38 games, he has only scored three goals and set up one. Only one of those goals was in the Premier League.
He lost it when he was moved to left back in the loss to Arsenal and again when he was moved to right back against Liverpool.
People also called Antony mean things after United beat Coventry on penalties to move on to the FA Cup Final. On May 25, they will play Man City in that game.
Even though they are only eighth in the league, their season has been terrible in every way. They’re likely to have the worst finish in the history of the Premier League.
They have lost 19 games in all competitions, so they might not even make it to European football. This is the most since the 1978–79 season.
The United game against Newcastle this evening at Old Trafford. They also don’t want to lose their tenth home game of the season, which would be the most ever.
After seeing Antony getting his tattoo on Instagram, people who didn’t like him spoke out against him right away.
One fan who saw the pictures on social media said, “More tattoos than good games.”
Sixth said, “Man got a tattoo.”
Someone else joked, “Who has a face tattoo?” faces that are happy.
One of the worst things someone said was, “Nothing but hate for football; would rather get tattoos than play football and pay attention to your upcoming games.”
Wow, I can’t believe Manchester United has guys like this.
It was Lopes who did all of the tattoos on the attacker’s back. Tattoos are a way for Lopes to remember his childhood in Brazil’s poor favelas.
As a nod to that, the tattoo shows him enjoying his Ajax goal while looking out over what looks like his old house.
