The centre-back was not the only Manchester United player called up to the Argentina team; Alejandro Garnacho was forced to withdraw due to a knee injury.

Lionel Scaloni’s group faces Venezuela and Bolivia in two qualifying matches, and United fans will be hoping that Martinez does not suffer any injuries.
