What happened?
Following a dismal start to the 2024-25 season, questions about Ten Hag’s continued position at Old Trafford remain. After seven games, the Red Devils have only eight points and are 14th in the table, their worst start to a Premier League season.
THE BIGGER PICTURE
According to the Manchester Evening News, United executives will meet in London on Thursday. Ten Hag’s future will be discussed there, as will potential replacements. It is said that former Chelsea manager Tuchel remains on their radar.
Did you know?
Tuchel, who led Chelsea to Champions League gold during his tenure at Stamford Bridge, would be instantly available after parting ways with German powerhouses Bayern Munich at the end of last season. He has already spoken with United’s co-owner, Sir Jim Ratcliffe.
WHAT IS NEXT?
Tuchel is said to be open to taking over the reins in Manchester. United does, however, have other possibilities on their list of prospective Ten Hag successors. He is also not ready to walk away, with the Dutchman stating that his position has not altered after overseeing a 0-0 stalemate at Aston Villa.
