TWO of Europe’s top clubs are keeping an eye on Alejandro Garnacho as his season has been frustrating so far.

His stunning lack of activity even sparked rumours of a feud with manager Erik Ten Hag, who was apparently enraged by a social media post Garnacho made about not playing.

SunSport can now report that Barcelona and Juventus have been put on red alert.

The Spanish and Italian heavyweights are keeping an eye on the situation and may be willing to make a big bid for United this summer.

United are thought to value the player, who is a fan favourite, at £50 million.

Earlier this year, he asserted in a cryptic message that “God has something planned for me” after being kept out of the starting lineup by Ten Hag in their 2-1 loss to Brighton.

The Argentine was forced to play as a substitute in United’s opening two games of the season, appearing for the final 30 minutes against Fulham and the Seagulls, aiding Joshua Zirkzee’s late winner against the former at Old Trafford.

Ten Hag also raised eyebrows earlier this season when questioned if he thought Garnacho was world-class.

Ten Hag answered, “You’ve gone too hastily. He has a long way to go to achieve world class status.

“He has 100% potential. However, he made an impact last season and has the potential to play in the starting lineup.

“It begins with hard work. That has taken him to where he is now, and it will lead to his becoming a world-class player, as I believe he has the talent.”

Garnacho shined for United last season, scoring nine goals and giving four assists.

Barcelona and Juventus are keeping an eye on Garnacho, who wears a jersey with the number 17.
