Vincent Kompany’s Bayern Munich is keeping a close eye on Alisson Becker’s situation. The 31-year-old Liverpool goalkeeper has been linked with a lucrative move to Saudi Arabia, potentially at the end of the season. Bayern, grappling with injury concerns surrounding their No. 1, Manuel Neuer, is also interested, though acquiring Alisson would require a significant investment.
Kompany, who previously managed Burnley, holds Alisson in high regard from their shared time in English football and may consider an ambitious bid after this season.
Liverpool is bracing for the possibility of Alisson’s exit and has already secured Giorgi Mamardashvili, a 23-year-old goalkeeper from Valencia, to join the team permanently next year.
Alisson made his move to Liverpool from Roma in 2018 for £67 million, quickly becoming a cornerstone of the squad and bringing much-needed stability in goal. Under Jürgen Klopp, he was instrumental in the club’s achievements, including their first Premier League title in 30 years in 2020, along with victories in the FA Cup, EFL Cup, and Champions League. In his six-year tenure, he has racked up 269 appearances and has played six matches this season.
Should Alisson depart, manager Arne Slot might turn to Caoimhin Kelleher as a viable alternative.
