The Red Devils are set to launch a new Adidas apparel line honoring the Belfast-born icon, who made over 350 appearances for the team and was recognized in FIFA’s Team of the Century.

This collection draws inspiration from United’s victorious 1967-68 European Cup season, during which they triumphed over Benfica 4-1 in the final, with Best scoring during extra time at Wembley.

Current players Marcus Rashford, Casemiro, Mason Mount, and Ethan Wheatley showcased the new line, which features a shirt, joggers, and a zip-up jacket in a classic dark blue associated with the club.

Former players Bryan Robson and Andy Cole also participated in the promotional shoot, which incorporates Manchester’s coat of arms. Capturing the moment was none other than actor Gary Oldman, celebrated for his role in Slow Horses.Preview

One fan expressed their excitement on X: “The George Best collection photographed with a vintage Chamonix camera by THE Gary Oldman is such a cool thing to read on a rainy Friday! Major props to Adidas and MUFC!” Another fan added, “Belfast-born, Manchester-made, and now a collection celebrating his greatness—George Best’s legacy lives on.” A third remarked, “This collection perfectly embodies George Best’s spirit! Proud to honor such an iconic player.”Preview

Oldman, a passionate United fan, is often seen at Old Trafford. He made a surprise appearance on TNT Sports before a match against Everton in March. The Oscar-winning actor took home the Best Actor award in 2018 for his role as Winston Churchill in Darkest Hour, and celebrated the win wearing a United shirt signed by Marcus Rashford.Preview

Manchester United’s official Instagram highlighted the moment, captioning it: “What better way to celebrate a trophy-winning night at the #Oscars than with a personalized shirt from your favorite #MUFC player?”
