Belgium’s Euro 2024 campaign came to an end early on July 2 with a 0-1 defeat to France in the round of 16. Captain Kevin De Bruyne expressed his disappointment with the result. He lost his cool while addressing questions at the post-match press conference.

A reporter asked De Bruyne: “Is it difficult for you that the Belgian golden generation did not reach the final?”.

De Bruyne responded with a counter-question for the reporter: “What golden generation?”.

The reporter answered that it was the golden generation of the Belgian team and De Bruyne. The midfielder born in 1991 angrily replied: “My golden generation? So you think France, Spain, England and Germany are not the golden generation? Okay, thanks!”.

Notably, in a fit of rage, De Bruyne screamed “idiot” before fleeing the interview location. This moment was captured by the camera lens.
