Ex – Man Utd star Scott McTominay kisses the badge after scoring his first goal for Napoli, with an assist from former Red Devils teammate Romelu Lukaku

On Thursday night, Scott McTominay scored his first goal for Napoli in a 5-0 Coppa Italia victory over Palermo.

This was only the 27-year-old Scotland midfielder’s third game for Napoli after signing from Manchester United for £25.7 million last month.

His goal came in the 77th minute, with an assist from one of his former United teammates.

Romelu Lukaku, who played for Manchester United from 2017 to 2019, outpaced Pietro Ceccaroni before bringing the ball back for McTominay to score from 10 yards out.

McTominay had previously scored 29 goals in 255 games for United.

Cyril Ngonge scored twice in the first 12 minutes, putting the game 2-0.

Juan Jesus made it 3-0 late in the first half, and Aljosa Vasic of Palermo was sent off in the 58th minute.

David Neres then scored Napoli’s fourth goal of the night with 20 minutes left, soon before Lukaku and McTominay were introduced as replacements.

The ex-United combo had been on the pitch for less than 60 seconds when they combined for goal number 5.
