Tom Ince scored a late consolation to give the Premier League champions a worry, but they held on for victory.

Foden was charged with leading City’s line, and he and Guardiola had an intense conversation after the final whistle.

The Etihad CEO was spotted providing directions and instructions to Foden while placing his arm around the England international.

It is not the first time the Spaniard has done so; he gave Erling Haaland a stern talking to before halftime at Burnley last season.

City have been dealt a big setback as midfielder Rodri sustained a serious knee injury in the 2-2 draw with Arsenal.

He could be out until the end of the season, leaving Guardiola to find a successor.

Nunes was given a shot against Watford after an unimpressive 13 months since joining from Wolves for £53 million.

And after Nunes grabbed a goal, Guardiola said: “He has special qualities few players have, unique.
