Alejandro Garnacho, Manchester United’s promising 18-year-old forward, was seen out and about in Cheshire this past Saturday. The young star, who has been sidelined since sustaining an injury in the 0-0 draw against Southampton on March 12, was previously spotted using crutches both after the match and a week later.
However, recent developments are encouraging. Garnacho was seen walking unaided outside Cibo Restaurant in Hale Village on Saturday afternoon. Additionally, he resumed wearing football boots in training last Monday, signaling significant progress in his recovery.
Despite speculation about his availability for Manchester United’s upcoming fixtures, including the FA Cup semi-final against Brighton, Garnacho has been focusing on his rehabilitation. The exact date of his return remains unknown, but manager Erik ten Hag is hopeful he will rejoin the squad for the season’s final stages. On April 7, Ten Hag stated, “We have a timeline in mind, but I don’t want to put undue pressure on the medical team or on Garnacho by setting a specific return date. He will definitely be back before the season concludes.”
With Manchester United still facing eight Premier League matches and a crucial FA Cup semi-final, Garnacho’s return could be a significant boost for the team. This season, the young winger has featured in 29 games, netting four goals and providing five assists. His return could play a vital role as United looks to close out the season strongly.
