LIVERPOOL is set to compete with Manchester United for Fulham left-back Antonee Robinson.
The Red Devils have identified the USA international as a potential solution for Erik ten Hag’s squad, possibly targeting him as early as January. Meanwhile, Liverpool is also keen on the former Everton prospect, who could serve as immediate cover and a possible long-term replacement for Andy Robertson.
Anfield officials have explored left-back options worldwide but might find their answer within the Premier League. Robinson, 27, is just four years younger than Robertson and is among the few experienced players who can be compared to the Scotsman.
However, a potential drawback for Robinson at Liverpool could be limited playing time, as United has a more pressing need for a starter. Fulham recently re-signed Ryan Sessegnon from Tottenham, and the 24-year-old has been performing well, primarily as an attacking left-back. Last year, reports indicated that Manchester City was also interested in the £35 million-rated player.
Robinson joined Fulham in 2020 for around £2 million from Wigan and has since made 155 appearances for the club over five seasons, along with 46 caps for his national team.
