This week, Manchester United has loaned Antony to a new club, and there’s a chance he might be sold permanently at a bargain price in the near future.

Winger Antony may be heading to Turkey to join Fenerbahce on a loan deal this week, with the agreement potentially spanning one season.Tin chuyển nhượng tối 9/9: BLĐ Man Utd ra tối hậu thư cho Ten Hag; Mourinho xác nhận chiêu mộ Antony

As reported by the Daily Mail on September 9, Fenerbahce, managed by former Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho, is in the process of securing Antony on loan. The Brazilian forward, dissatisfied with his reduced role under Erik Ten Hag, is keen to make the move. The Turkish transfer window remains open until September 13, giving English clubs a window to complete transfers to Turkish teams.

Antony, who cost Manchester United $103 million in the summer of 2022, has struggled to make an impact, scoring just 11 goals in 83 appearances for the club, including five in the Premier League. Currently, he’s fallen behind Alejandro Garnacho and Amad Diallo as the third choice on the right wing.Antony's Man United stance clear as transfer offers 'received' - Manchester Evening News

Besides Fenerbahce, Antony has attracted interest from his previous club Ajax, as well as teams in France, Spain, and Saudi Arabia. Despite this, Fenerbahce remains the most likely destination for him.

Antony earns $260,000 per week at Manchester United, and during the loan period, United may have to cover part of his salary. Mourinho, who managed Manchester United from 2016 to 2018, took charge of Fenerbahce this summer. Under his leadership, the club has signed Youssef En-Nesyri from Sevilla and brought in Sofyan Amrabat (from Fiorentina), Filip Kostic (from Juventus), and Allan Saint-Maximin (from Al Ahli) on loan. Additionally, Fenerbahce’s squad includes former Ajax captain Dusan Tadic, ex-Manchester United midfielder Fred, and former Manchester City and Inter striker Edin Dzeko.

Currently leading the Turkish Super Lig with 10 points from four games, Fenerbahce has made a strong start to the season. Fred’s hat-trick in their 5-0 win over Rizespor on August 25 highlighted their attacking prowess. However, after a loss to Lille in the Champions League qualifiers, Fenerbahce has moved to the Europa League. Should Antony join Fenerbahce, he might face Manchester United in the Europa League group stage match scheduled for October 24.
