‘4 Big Chances, 97% Accurate passes’: Man Utd star Amad Diallo marks his comeback to the national team with an ‘EFFORT’ performance as Ivory Coast overcome Zambia

Manchester United winger Amad Diallo returned to the Ivory Coast national team and performed admirably in a victory over Zambia.

Ivory Coast defeated Zambia 2-0 on Friday in an African Cup of Nations qualifier.

Jean-Phillippe Krasso’s late double was enough to secure the Elephants’ victory at Stade de la Paix.

Amad was recently invited back into the Ivory Coast squad for the first time in 18 months, as his team began its defence of the African Cup of Nations championship.

The United player earned his final six caps for the Ivorians in March 2023, missing out on AFCON gold when his side won the competition at home before facing Zambia.

Amad’s impressive club achievements earned him a spot in the starting lineup against Zambia, and he did not disappoint.

Surprisingly, the 22-year-old largely played in midfield, with Oumar Diakite deployed on the right wing.

Amad had 63 touches of the ball in the 70 minutes he played before being replaced by Benie Traore.

He missed only one of the 34 passes he tried, resulting in an amazing pass accuracy of 97. He made four key passes.

The Red Devils attacker attempted to find his teammates with eight crosses. He hit his target four times.

Amad recorded three shots. Two were off-target, and one needed Tresford Lawrence Mulenga to take quick action.

He squandered a wonderful opportunity.

Amad will be looking to enhance his dribbling skills ahead of Ivory Coast’s next match. He attempted six dribbles and failed to complete any of them.

The United number 16 won two of the ten ground duels he fought. He drew two coulds and made one interception.

Ivory Coast’s next match is against Chad on Tuesday, and Amad will likely want to get another start.
