Declan Rice and Jack Grealish scored twice in the first half as England handily defeated hosts Ireland. This victory sent the “Three Lions” to the top of Group B2 of the UEFA Nations League 2024-2025. Following their failure at EURO 2024, England is looking forward to another official tournament in the hopes of winning a trophy after more than a half-century wait.The home supporters booed Grealish and Rice during the national anthem prior to kickoff. The vitriol was also aimed at interim coach Lee Carsley. The reason for this is that all three had played for the Irish national team before deciding to continue their careers in England.

Grealish may have forgotten the disappointment of not getting called up to the EURO 2024 squad when scoring and celebrating.
