100% aerial duels, 96% passing accuracy: Man Utd star Lisandro Martinez continues imperious form as Garnacho put ‘EFFORT’ performance with an assist after playing 15 minutes won in Argentina’s win vs Chile

Lisandro Martinez and Alejandro Garnacho of Manchester United both impressed in Argentina’s World Cup qualification triumph over Chile, winning 3-0.

Alexis MacAllister, Julian Alvarez, and Paulo Dybala scored for the Argentines, giving them all three points.

They are now five points ahead of the field, having won six of seven qualifying matches.

The Copa America winners dominated with 65% possession and 15 shots to their opponents’ five.

Martinez played 79 minutes and once again helped his national team retain a clean sheet.

He had a score of 7.5 on Sofascore and made four clearances on the night.

The central defence also dominated the air, winning five of five aerial bouts.

The 26-year-old has had a shaky start to the season for United, but he was magnificent on the ball for the Argentines, recording 67 touches and completing 96% of his 54 passes.

Martinez was in incredible form for la Albiceleste this summer, and it appears he picked up just where he left off in the Copa America.

Despite having little opportunity to shine, he received a score of 6.9 and assisted Dybala’s late goal in the 91st minute.

He picked up the ball on the left wing and carried it forward before laying it off to Dybala, who fired home from outside the area.

Garnacho also had a shot on goal and completed 82% of his eleven passes in a memorable brief appearance off the bench for the United winger.Image

Both stars will be hoping to maintain their good form as Argentina travels to Colombia on Tuesday in what promises to be an exciting match and an early rematch of the Copa America final from July.
