Reports suggest that Antony, the Manchester United winger who has struggled since his £85.5 million move from Ajax, may have the opportunity to join Jose Mourinho at Fenerbahce. The 24-year-old Brazilian has had a tough two years at Old Trafford, contributing only one goal and one assist in 29 Premier League games last season. His total tally in all competitions stands at 11 goals and five assists from 83 appearances.
Currently, Antony has played just one minute in Manchester United’s first three Premier League matches of the season, with Marcus Rashford, Alejandro Garnacho, and Amad Diallo ahead of him in the selection hierarchy. Although the transfer window has closed in most European countries, it remains open in Turkey until September 13.
According to Sport Witness, Mourinho’s Fenerbahce is considering a loan move for Antony and aims to complete the deal by Wednesday evening. Mourinho, who joined Fenerbahce this summer, has already signed players such as Youssef En-Nesyri, Caglar Soyuncu, and Allan Saint-Maximin. Adding Antony could boost his chances of securing Fenerbahce’s first league title since 2014.
In related news, Fenerbahce’s rivals Galatasaray have secured a loan deal for Napoli striker Victor Osimhen. The 25-year-old Nigerian, who did not transfer to Chelsea or a Saudi club on Deadline Day, has now joined Galatasaray on a temporary basis.
