Subject to international clearance, Liverpool and Juventus have struck an agreement for Federico Chiesa’s transfer.

Liverpool have secured Federico Chiesa from Juventus, with the move pending international clearance.

The 26-year-old Italian forward has passed his medical examination and signed a long-term contract with the Reds. He will soon link up with Liverpool’s squad.

Chiesa, who has made 51 appearances for Italy and participated in Euro 2024, will depart Juventus after four seasons and 131 matches.

Expressing his excitement, Chiesa told Liverpoolfc.com: “I’m overjoyed to join Liverpool. When Richard Hughes called to offer me this opportunity and the coach reached out as well, I immediately accepted. I deeply respect the history of this club and what it means to its supporters.”

Chiesa began his career at Fiorentina, making his senior debut at 18 against Juventus in the 2016-17 Serie A season. He played 153 games for Fiorentina, netting 34 goals, before moving to Juventus in October 2020 on loan, which was made permanent in May 2022.

In his first season with Juventus, Chiesa scored the decisive goal in the 2021 Coppa Italia final against Atalanta. However, he faced a significant setback with an anterior cruciate ligament injury, sidelining him for nearly 10 months.

Returning to form, Chiesa enjoyed his best season at Juventus in terms of league appearances, featuring in 33 games and scoring 10 goals across all competitions, also earning a second Coppa Italia title.

On the international stage, Chiesa played a vital role in Italy’s Euro 2020 triumph, scoring twice in seven matches, and featured in Euro 2024.PreviewPreview

Chiesa’s arrival marks Liverpool’s second signing under new manager Arne Slot, following the agreement to bring in Giorgi Mamardashvili from Valencia for the 2025-26 season.
