Liverpool have finalized a deal to acquire Giorgi Mamardashvili, pending a work permit and international clearance. The Valencia goalkeeper is set to join Liverpool ahead of the 2025-26 season.
The agreement allows Mamardashvili, 23, to remain with Valencia for the remainder of the current season before moving to Merseyside next summer.
The transfer follows Mamardashvili’s standout performance at Euro 2024 with Georgia, where they advanced to the Round of 16. His 21 saves in the group stage were the highest of any goalkeeper in the tournament’s history.
The Georgian international, who has earned 21 caps, will stay with Valencia for one more season. He has been with the club since 2021, following his move from Dinamo Tbilisi.
To date, Mamardashvili has made 102 appearances for Valencia and recorded 31 clean sheets across all competitions. He has started both of their matches this season against Barcelona and Celta Vigo.
