Journalist David Ornstein has confirmed that Jadon Sancho is likely to depart Manchester United this summer. Sancho was omitted from the squad for Manchester United’s 1-0 victory against Fulham in the Premier League opener.
Manager Erik ten Hag explained that while Sancho had been dealing with an ear infection before the game, he was fit to play. However, ten Hag chose to select other players for that match. It was therefore not surprising that Sancho was also left out in Manchester United’s 1-2 defeat to Brighton in the second round of the Premier League.
The Athletic reports that Sancho has reacted to ten Hag’s decision by reaffirming his wish to leave. David Ornstein has recently confirmed that “Jadon Sancho could potentially leave Manchester United before the transfer window closes. The club is negotiating with Juventus and Chelsea regarding either a permanent transfer or a loan deal.
Chelsea might offer a player in exchange, with Raheem Sterling being the most likely candidate. However, several conditions need to be met for the transfer to go through.”
Given the current situation, Sancho’s exit from Manchester United appears increasingly likely.
Manchester United is willing to sell Sancho and is aiming to receive around £40 million for him. Discussions are ongoing regarding the terms of a possible transfer for Sancho.
