As the Premier League takes a breather, England internationals Harry Maguire and Jordan Pickford have been trading their football boots for golf clubs in Dubai. The duo participated in the Dubai Desert Classic Pro-Am, enjoying a round at the Emirates Golf Club alongside golfing legends Rory McIlroy, Lee Westwood, and Tommy Fleetwood.
Maguire, representing Manchester United, and Pickford, from Everton, made the most of their golf outing, even snapping a photo with Westwood, who shared it on social media. Maguire cheekily commented, “5-a-side team sorted,” suggesting a playful nod to their football roots.
Their Dubai adventure also included a round with Shane Lowry, who shared a group photo on Instagram, captioning it, “Great group today in Dubai. Easy money for the Irish.” Maguire responded with a light-hearted challenge: “We’ll get revenge on our home patch.”
The sunny city has become a retreat for Premier League stars, with Liverpool’s Andy Robertson, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, and James Milner also hitting the greens. They played alongside 2011 Masters champion Charl Schwartzel, competing against top names like Ian Poulter, Henrik Stenson, and Danny Willett.
Formula One driver Lando Norris also joined the Dubai golf scene, posting a photo with Indian cricket legend Yuvraj Singh.
While Maguire and Pickford enjoyed some R&R in the UAE, Manchester United teammates Marcus Rashford and Jesse Lingard were hard at work, focusing on fitness at a luxury training facility, combining weight training with skill drills on a pristine pitch.
