CHELSEA are reportedly considering a surprising move for Jadon Sancho, which might involve a player transferring to Manchester United in exchange. Sky Sports has reported that discussions are ongoing between the two clubs ahead of Friday’s transfer deadline. Di Marzio has suggested that United are interested in Chelsea’s Raheem Sterling and Ben Chilwell.
The outcome of these talks remains uncertain with the window closing soon. Sancho was notably absent from United’s squad for their recent defeat against Brighton, despite having been reintegrated into the team after his return from Borussia Dortmund and an earlier rift with manager Erik ten Hag. He even featured in the Community Shield loss to Manchester City but missed a penalty in the shootout.
Manchester United is reportedly open to selling Sancho for the right price, and Chelsea appears to be leading the pursuit. The Blues have already invested heavily in new attackers this summer, including Pedro Neto and Joao Felix, and are still searching for a top striker like Napoli’s Victor Osimhen. Meanwhile, Chelsea’s Enzo Maresca has lost a winger due to Sterling’s exclusion, as Sterling has been instructed to seek other opportunities after a disappointing pre-season and is now training separately.
It is believed that Chelsea might offer a player as part of the deal for Sancho, with Sterling being a potential candidate to move to Old Trafford. Additionally, left-back Ben Chilwell, who is also training away from the main squad, could be another option for United, especially after Luke Shaw’s recent injury. There are also reports that United are interested in centre-back Trevoh Chalobah, but he is reportedly a target for Newcastle, who have had multiple bids rejected for Crystal Palace’s Marc Guehi.
Juventus is also interested in Sancho and is looking to arrange a loan deal, but United would prefer a permanent transfer. This preference could give Chelsea an edge if they are aiming for a long-term acquisition.
