Robbie Mainoo couldn’t resist poking fun at his injured teammate Leny Yoro during a recent night out.
The Manchester United duo were spotted climbing into a car this week, with Yoro visibly struggling on crutches. Recovering from surgery for a fractured foot and sporting a protective boot, the Frenchman appeared to be having a tough time.
In the video footage, Yoro pauses to snap photos with fans before awkwardly passing his crutches into the back of the car. As he settled in, Mainoo took the opportunity to tease him, jokingly saying, “Leny, you’re so slow, bro.”
The playful jab was met with laughter from both players before they drove off together.
Yoro, who joined United from Lille for £52million earlier this summer, has already been sidelined by injury. After a standout performance in a friendly against Rangers, he traveled with the team to the USA, only to suffer the fractured foot in a clash with Arsenal. Following surgery, he faces a three-month recovery period.
Consequently, the 18-year-old is not expected to return until late October, potentially making his Premier League debut against Chelsea at Old Trafford on November 2.
In Yoro’s absence, Erik ten Hag’s squad kicked off their season at home against Fulham on Friday, with new signing Joshua Zirkzee scoring a late winner to secure a 1-0 victory. Matthijs de Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui also made their first appearances for United after transferring from Bayern Munich.
United will resume their league campaign this weekend with an away match against Brighton on Saturday.
