Manchester United’s players had a team bonding night at Tattu, an elegant Chinese restaurant located just a three-minute walk from where rival Manchester City players won PFA Awards on Tuesday night.

While Kobbie Mainoo and Alejandro Garnacho, who scored in Man United’s FA Cup final victory over City, were on the shortlist for the PFA Men’s Young Player of the Year Award, it was City who swept the prizes, with Phil Foden winning the Men’s Players’ Player of the Year.

Erling Haaland and Rodri were also on the shortlist for the prestigious prize and were named to the men’s PFA Premier League Team of the Season, together with City captain Kyle Walker.

All were present at the awards ceremony, which took place at the Manchester Opera House in Deansgate, while United stars partied nearby.

Following their late victory over Fulham on Friday night, Luke Shaw, Marcus Rashford, and Rasmus Hojlund were all seen headed to the luxurious restaurant.

Luke Shaw, who had been ruled out with an injury, was spotted with the team.Marcus Rashford wore a baseball cap and a flash watch on his wrist throughout the evening.

Several Manchester United players went out for a team building meal at an upscale restaurant.

Garnacho had a fantastic 2023-24 season, particularly scoring a spectacular overhead kick against Goodison Park.Mainoo, 19, received a call-up to England’s Euro2024 squad due to his great form last season.

Fernandes agreed to extend his Man United contract until 2027, with the possibility of another year, last week.Rasmus Hojlund was sidelined at the start of the season with a hamstring injury.

Tattu, located on Gartside Street in Spinningfields, had formerly been a popular hangout for football players. 

Following all-night celebrations in the city, numerous City players, including Kevin de Bruyne and Ilkay Gundogan, went out to eat at the Manchester cafe with backroom personnel. 

Back in 2018, City’s title-winning team returned to the Chinese restaurant to celebrate their victory, with the club leasing out the entire restaurant and 500 employees in attendance.

United, meanwhile, are hoping to rebound this season from a poor 2023-24 season, despite defeating their local rivals to win the FA Cup in May. 

Erik ten Hag’s team has already been active in the transfer market this summer, signing defenders Matthijs De Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui from Bayern Munich for a combined £60 million. 

While Manchester United’s stars were enjoying a meal out, Phil Foden and several other Manchester City opponents were collecting PFA Awards.

Following a slew of important defender injuries last season, new sporting director Dan Ashworth made it a priority to strengthen the Red Devils’ defensive ranks, with United also signing French centre back Leny Yoro from Lille.

However, the Red Devils were struck a blow after buying the 18-year-old for £52 million, as the teenage defender suffered a metatarsal injury during his team’s recent friendly against Arsenal during their pre-season tour of Los Angeles. 

Yoro was seen heading towards the restaurant on crutches on Tuesday night, after United confirmed last week that he had successfully undergone surgery on his foot injury. The club also confirmed that he will be sidelined for three months as he works on his recovery. 

United are apparently preparing to do a ‘U-turn’ on Casemiro’s future at the club, amid claims that they may want to sell him.
