Erling Haaland and Phil Foden lead Premier League stars on the red carpet with their WAGs at the PFA Awards in Manchester, as City and Arsenal rivals turn out in force following outstanding seasons

Premier League stars walked the red carpet ahead of the Professional Footballers Association’s annual awards presentation on Tuesday.

Players from Manchester City and Arsenal participated with dreams of securing some of the game’s most prestigious individual trophies after their title struggle went to the wire last season.

Alex Scott and Jules Breach hosted the event, which took place at Manchester’s historic Opera House Theatre.

Erling Haaland entered the event as one of the favourites to retain his PFA Players’ Player of the Year title, having followed up his incredible debut campaign with another successful campaign at the Etihad.

The Norwegian striker wore a black suit to the event and was accompanied on the red carpet by his partner, player Isabel Haugseng Johansen.

Rodri, Martin Odegaard, Cole Palmer, and Ollie Watkins were all on the shortlist for the prize.

Palmer was voted the PFA Young Player of the Year following a spectacular breakout season at Chelsea last season, during which he scored 22 Premier League goals and assisted 11 others.

While Arsenal were unable to win their first Premier League title in two decades by the smallest of margins, Mikel Arteta’s side was strongly represented in the PFA Team of the Year.

David Raya, William Salbia, Gabriel, Declan Rice, and Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard were all picked to the XI.

They were joined by City talents Kyle Walker, Rodri, Foden, and Haaland, as well as Liverpool’s Virgil van Dijk and Aston Villa striker Watkins.
