Liverpool captain Virgil van Dijk has earned a spot in the PFA Premier League Team of the Year for the 2023-24 season, marking his fourth appearance in this prestigious lineup. Since his arrival at Liverpool in January 2018, Van Dijk has been honored with this accolade in 2019, 2020, and 2022. 
Last season, the Netherlands international played a pivotal role, making 36 league appearances and netting two goals, as Liverpool finished third in the Premier League, securing their place back in the Champions League. 
Van Dijk also made a memorable impact by scoring the decisive goal in extra time during the Carabao Cup final, leading Liverpool to a 1-0 victory over Chelsea at Wembley. His inclusion in the latest Team of the Year was revealed during the 2024 PFA Awards ceremony in Manchester.
