Kylian Mbappe’s arrival at Real Madrid appears to have already caused a minor dispute in the Santiago Bernabeu dressing room.
Mbappe arrived in the Spanish capital this summer after a lengthy pursuit by Los Blancos spanning several seasons, with the Frenchman finally joining at the end of his PSG contract.
It also took him less than 90 minutes to score his first goal, which came in the European Super Cup final against Atalanta last week, to win his maiden prize in the renowned white shirt.
While acquiring perhaps the best player in the world is never a negative thing, the transition was never going to be easy, given Real Madrid’s already extensive roster of world-class players.
Fitting him into a lineup that already contained Jude Bellingham, Vinicius Junior, and Rodrygo Goes was going to be the big question for Carlo Ancelotti, and it appears that Mbappe’s arrival has caused the emphasis to shift away from one of last season’s Champions League-winning triumvirate.

Carlo Ancelotti faces a delicate balancing act slotting in the French superstar to his team
The Spanish press has a well-documented fondness for acronyms as shorthand for LaLiga’s famous attacking trios, such as BBC (Karim Benzema, Gareth Bale, Cristiano Ronaldo) and MSN (Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez, Neymar Jr.), so it’s no wonder that BMV is already gaining popularity.
But the one member left out of the three (Bellingham, Mbappe, and Vinicius) is Rodrygo, and a statement purportedly published on his WhatsApp account suggests that this has not gone well with the Brazilian.
‘Last week, they talked about the trio Bellingham, Mbappe, and Vini, but to this acronym, we will have to add the R for Rodrygo,’ stated the message, which is thought to have been delivered on Monday.
According to El Chiringuito, the message was actually sent out by the player’s communications team, not Rodrygo himself.
The message is also thought to have been erased in order to prevent additional confusion.
Rodrygo started Sunday’s match against Mallorca and scored his team’s goal in the 1-1 draw, leaving Ancelotti and Co baffled in their first league game of the season.
That starting XI is a good indicator of how the renowned Italian manager will build up his team, with Rodrygo and Vinicius Junior each side of Mbappe.
Bellingham started the game on the left of a midfield trio, alongside Aurelien Tchouameni and Federico Valverde.
