Football Insider reports that Manuel Ugarte is on the verge of a move to Old Trafford, with Manchester United pushing hard to finalize the deal. After a standout performance against Fulham, where Casemiro and Kobbie Mainoo shone, it’s clear United needs additional defensive midfield support, and Ugarte appears to be the prime candidate.
The Uruguayan is eager to leave PSG before the end of August, and United is accelerating negotiations to seal the transfer in the next few days. Fabrizio Romano adds that Ugarte is enthusiastic about joining Manchester United and is simply waiting for the clubs to agree on the transfer fee.
PSG has set Ugarte’s price at approximately £45 million, and with United having already splurged in the transfer market, they must tread carefully to avoid breaching Premier League Financial Fair Play rules while pursuing the Uruguayan.
In other transfer news, Scott McTominay is rumored to be moving to Napoli, having engaged in promising talks with coach Antonio Conte.
