DAVID DE GEA has completed his free transfer to Fiorentina.
The former Manchester United custodian has returned to action after 14 months away.

Former Manchester United custodian David de Gea arrived in Italy on Friday ahead of his move to Fiorentina.
Later this afternoon, the 33-year-old signed a one-year contract with Fiorentina, with the option to extend it for another year.
De Gea had been unemployed since leaving Manchester United last summer after failing to reach an agreement on a contract extension.
His last competitive appearance came over 400 days ago, in the Red Devils’ 2023 FA Cup final defeat to Manchester City.
Last season, Pietro Terracciano was Fiorentina’s first-choice custodian, having made 53 appearances in all competitions and keeping 13 clean sheets.
The 34-year-old’s contract is slated to expire in 2025.
De Gea joined United from Atletico Madrid in 2011 and made 545 appearances over a 12-year period.
During his stint at the club, he beat Peter Schmeichal’s all-time United clean sheet record and became the custodian with the most appearances.
The Spaniard won five major trophies at Manchester, including the Premier League title in 2013, the FA Cup in 2016, and the Europa League in 2017.

And the shot-stopper won several individual awards, including the Premier League Golden Glove in both 2017-18 and 2022-23 seasons.
He was also named Manchester United’s Player of the Year for three consecutive seasons, from 2013 to 2016.
He has 45 caps for Spain, with his most recent appearance coming in 2020.
Fiorentina finished seventh in Serie A last season and made the Europa Conference League final for the second year in a row, but were defeated by Olympiacos.
The new campaign begins on August 17th, when they face Parma.
