Artist Jordan Dawson added a personal touch to Liverpool striker Darwin Nunez’s Nike boots by incorporating the Uruguayan flag into the design.
Liverpool fans may have spotted Nunez sporting these custom football boots this season. The striker, who has a deal with Nike, enlisted Dawson to create a distinctive pair of blacked-out boots featuring the Uruguayan flag, aiming to make an impression during his inaugural season at Anfield. Dawson, who has also crafted bespoke boots for Manchester United’s Marcus Rashford, personally delivered the customized boots to Nunez’s Liverpool residence.
Nunez, who made a high-profile move from Benfica to Liverpool, initially faced some difficulties on the field but is now starting to make a significant impact against rival defenses.
Dawson recounted his experience with TalkSPORT: “I handed over the boots to Nunez, and since then, his performance has improved markedly. This personalized touch goes beyond the usual custom gear; it allows players to express their identity through their boots.”
He continued, “When I visited Nunez, he was visibly moved and kissed the Uruguayan flag on the boots. Despite the language barrier, his excitement was evident. The sparkle in his eyes when he saw the boots was priceless. It’s moments like these that make the job so rewarding.”
