Manchester United’s £52 million signing, 18-year-old Leny Yoro, is settling into a luxurious new residence—a £2 million mansion once occupied by Mason Greenwood. Yoro will be renting this impressive six-bedroom, six-bathroom property in Bowdon, Cheshire, at a rate of £14,000 per month.
The mansion features an open-plan kitchen, three reception rooms, a cinema room, and a bar. To ensure Yoro’s security, the property is equipped with electric security gates, CCTV, and an intruder alarm. It also includes separate au pair accommodation and a double garage with a gym.
The rent covers a gardener, all utility bills, and a full Sky TV package, so Yoro won’t miss any Premier League matches. The home’s listing highlights its “tasteful interior with contemporary furniture and immaculate decoration.”
Yoro, who recently joined United from French club Lille, made a strong impression in his debut with a 2-0 victory over Rangers. United managed to secure his transfer despite interest from Real Madrid, with former centre-back Rio Ferdinand helping to finalize the deal. Ferdinand even sent Yoro a congratulatory video message, which the young player appreciated.
Yoro has signed a five-year contract worth approximately £144,000 per week, with assurances of regular game time at Old Trafford to aid his development. He previously made 32 appearances for Lille last season and could partner with Argentine defender Lisandro Martinez.
In contrast, Greenwood, who previously rented the Bowdon property, had a more turbulent experience. After making a name for himself with United, his contract ended following controversy and he moved to Spain on loan last September. He was arrested in January 2022 on charges of attempted rape and assault, though prosecutors later dropped the charges. Following an internal review, United decided Greenwood would not return to Old Trafford, leading him to a loan spell at Getafe and a subsequent £27 million transfer to Marseille.
Despite the past association, Yoro seems to have quickly won over Manchester United fans, who are already praising him as a promising talent following his debut performance.
