In the opening match of their pre-season tour, United lost 1-0 to Rosenborg at Norway’s Lerkendal Stadion.

Manchester United’s Casemiro nearly suffered a horrific injury at Rosenborg.

Casemiro was on the receiving end of an X-rated tackle during Man United's friendly with Rosenborg

During Manchester United’s pre-season tour, Casemiro nearly broke his leg, and manager Erik ten Hag faced a resurgence of last season’s injury problem within 18 minutes of the game.

Rosenborg’s Tomas Nemcik attempted to move the ball forward, but was halted by Casemiro.

In his attempt to reclaim the ball, Nemcik slammed the Brazilian’s shin with his left foot, nearly breaking his leg in half.

The Slovakian received a yellow card, but the United star was able to get back on his feet.

Fans of Manchester United were stunned by the sight and instantly took to social media to express their disbelief.

One supporter tweeted, “That tackle has absolutely no justification to happen. With just one task, we nearly spent $20-30 million.”

Another user wrote, “Casemiro getting snapped today.”

Another fan commented: “Why would you do that in a preseason friendly its ridiculous.”

And that one exclaimed, “Bruh.”

Casemiro appeared to be a high-profile summer exodus, as Saudi Arabia expressed interest.

Manchester United were under pressure for most of the game, but it appeared that they would cling on for a draw courtesy to stand-in goalkeeper Radek Vitek.

However, Noah Holm scored with nearly the final kick of the game, giving the Norwegians the victory over the Red Devils.
