ITCHY EYES: Legend Paul Scholes slammed Jesse Lingard and requested he STOP in gym following unemployed ex-Man United star’s image‎

PAUL SCHOLES has hit out at Jesse Lingard with an X-rated social media post as the ex-Manchester United player searches for a new club.

Lingard, 31, has been a free agent since his departure from Nottingham Forest at the end of last season.

Free agent Jesse Lingard uploaded images of himself in the gym on Monday.

Paul Scholes has criticised Lingard for still not having a club.

He trained with West Ham and Saudi Arabian team Al-Ettifaq before the end of 2023, but neither club offered him a contract.

Everton are reportedly interested in signing the former England international during the January transfer window.

But for the time being, he is without a club while he seeks to return to the game.

Lingard tweeted a slew of images from his gym sessions on Monday.

Scholes, 49, a Manchester United icon who won 11 Premier League titles at Old Trafford, was unimpressed with the social media remark.

He commented to the photographs, “Are you just gonna f about in the gym or are you gonna actually play football?”

Lingard has reportedly offered himself to Barcelona, in addition to a prospective transfer to Everton.

Lingard played 20 appearances for Forest season 2022/23, scoring two goals and assisting twice.

Paul Scholes was less than delighted with Lingard’s Instagram photos.

Lingard was put to the test by his personal trainer in Dubai.

The former Manchester United midfielder is looking for an opportunity to go back into football.

Lingard is linked with a move to Everton.

And he did not score a single goal in the Premier League for Steve Cooper’s side.

In 232 outings for boyhood club Manchester United, he scored 35 goals and assisted 21 times.

He also won 32 caps for England, scoring six goals.
