Manchester United fans have overwhelmingly approved the club’s new home kit on social media following its unveiling on Monday morning.

The Red Devils and Adidas published photographs of the new shirt on social media, which will be worn for all home games and a few away fixtures during the next 2024/25 season. The red shirt design is inspired by old Busby Babes jerseys and includes Snapdragon, the club’s new front-of-shirt sponsor.

It has been revealed that the shirt has been engineered to appear in different hues of red depending on where fans are seated at Old Trafford, in an intriguing twist.

The new kit, modelled by Kobbie Mainoo, Alejandro Garnacho, and Rasmus Hojlund, has gone over well with supporters on social media, with the majority praising the respectful tribute to one of Manchester United’s best teams in history.

Other fans began to shower the clothing with compliments. On X, one United fan remarked, “I love this, I can’t lie,” and another said, “Adidas outdid themselves on this one.”

The jersey design is inspired by the Busby Babes’ reflecting uniforms from 1952. The light-to-dark red gradient that runs down the jersey will boost visibility under floodlights during night games.

Bruno Fernandes, the club captain, was also spotted in the new strip.

Manchester United agreed to a £60 million contract with Qualcomm Snapdragon in September, with the US technology giant replacing Teamviewer as the club’s front-of-shirt sponsor.

The club did not publicise the entire details of the agreement, but The Athletic confirmed that Snapdragon will be on United’s playing kit for at least three seasons.
