Jürgen Klopp and his wife Ulla are settling into a luxurious villa they’ve renovated on the Spanish island of Majorca as they start a new chapter following his departure from Liverpool.
After an intense and highly successful nearly decade-long tenure on Merseyside, Klopp announced his departure for a sabbatical. He’s taking some well-deserved time off with Ulla, and Majorca is their chosen destination.
They’ve purchased an impressive villa for $4.3 million (£3.4m/€4m) on the island, which Klopp is transforming into an ‘ecological family paradise’, as reported by the Daily Mail. Extensive renovations have been undertaken to tailor the property for Klopp’s new life, and stunning photos now showcase the place he will call home.
Speaking on the podcast Willipedia via Bild, Klopp shared why Majorca appealed to him for his post-Liverpool days: “I’ve always dreamed of having a home in the south. I enjoy the weather, the climate, and the people. There are many things I appreciate here and people I already know. I’m not looking to make new friends; I already have lifelong friends, and if some of them are here too, that’s great.”
“I’m not planning to emigrate. We’ve vacationed here occasionally. But when I’m here, I want everything to be familiar. It may sound boring, but I want to experience a different lifestyle, not in the jungle or on a mountain.”
