KHVICHA KVARATSKHELIA capped a “dream” night against Cristiano Ronaldo by securing his idol’s shirt.

The 23-year-old winger helped Georgia make history by defeating Portugal 2-0 at Euro 2024 last night.

The winger confronted his idol, Cristiano Ronaldo, on the pitch for the first time.

The Napoli ace later announced that he had gotten the legend’s match shirt.

Kvaratskhelia was one of the children in the Dinamo Tbilisi Academy in 2013, which Ronaldo opened.

The Napoli star broke the deadlock in just two minutes and then withstood some intense pressure before Georges Mikautadze extended their lead from the penalty spot.

Cristiano Ronaldo, 39, made his record-breaking 50th participation in an international competition for his country, making the game even more significant.

However, it was a night to forget for him, as Kvaratskhelia helped Georgia reach the knockout stage for the first time, setting up a last-16 match against Spain.

Prior to the game, Kvaratskhelia expressed his passion for Ronaldo and how much it meant to face his idol.

While his Georgia teammates proceeded to celebrate their historic triumph against Portugal after the fulltime siren, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia went immediately to Cristiano Ronaldo and begged for his shirt.

Eleven years later, not only was the star player scoring and competing against the superstar’s team, but ten of his Georgia squad colleagues were also members of the academy.

And Kvaratskhelia announced after the game that he had gotten a fantastic keepsake of the night.

After the game, he swapped shirts with Ronaldo and excitedly uploaded a photo on social media with the phrase “dreams” next to it.

Speaking about the man whose posters used to adorn his bedroom walls before kickoff, Kvaratskhelia admitted: “I’m a little nervous.

“I have always wanted to play against Cristiano Ronaldo.

“He was an idol to me.

“Ronaldo doesn’t play in Europe anymore and it’s nice to meet him at national level, I’m motivated and I hope to have his shirt.”

Portugal, meanwhile, is the group leader and will face Slovenia on Monday for a spot in the quarterfinals.e knockouts for the first time and set-up a last-16 clash with Spain.
