Approximately 50,000 people have purchased tickets for their team’s first game against Italy in Dortmund on Saturday, some of which are suspected to be counterfeit.

England has been training on the same grass as the Wembley pitch at their headquarters near Blankenhain. It is understood that FA workers arranged for the grass to be shipped to the camp months before England arrived.

Didi Hamann, a former German darling, may wish to keep a low profile when in his native country. Hamann, who also played for Newcastle and Liverpool, earned 59 international caps.

However, this did not stop him from blasting current Germany attacker Kai Havertz on the eve of the host nation’s opening Euro 2024 game against Scotland.

Hamann reckons the Arsenal star is not good enough to lead the German attack. He told Prime Casino : “He is going to be turning twenty-five soon, and I’m still not sure what his best position is or what it is he does as a football player.

“He’s at that stage of his career where he needs to define his role. If you asked a hundred people what his best position is, you would probably get a lot of different answers.

“He’s not a centre forward, but he’s not prolific enough to score goals or create chances as an offensive midfielder.”
