It’s the smile of a young man on top of his game, and his family couldn’t be more proud.
Jude Bellingham could not contain his pleasure following his match-winning effort and goal in a 1-0 victory over Serbia in Germany at Euro 2024 yesterday night.
And, while tens of thousands of England fans rejoiced in the stadium, as did millions back home in Britain, Jude spent time in the stands with his parents and brother.
Jude’s mother and father, Denise and Mark, and brother Jobe were ecstatic when the 20-year-old hammered home a header. They also took selfies before the game and received congratulations from those surrounding them as the final whistle blew.
The Real Madrid midfielder looked to nod to his family during the celebrations and waved to them when the triumph was confirmed.
After his media interviews and a shower, he relaxed with his family. He and his father, Mark, a former player and retired police officer, laughed heartily. Jobe, who currently plays for Sunderland but is expected to transfer to the Premier League, grinned as he looked at his phone.
Mrs. Bellingham, an HR specialist who handles her son’s financial issues so he can concentrate on football, was also noticeably pleased. But Jude’s girlfriend, Laura Celia Valk, was not among the WAGs last night; she was modelling lingerie, gowns, and corsets in Paris.

More than a million England fans are likely to call in sick on ‘Hangover Monday’ today, while eight million will work from home, after Jude Bellingham led the team to a nail-biting 1-0 victory over Serbia at Euro 2024 in Germany yesterday.
The majority of the 54,740 fans in the Arena AufSchalke were from England, including the WAGs and the team’s families. The city’s fan park was also packed with 40,000 supporters.
While millions watched on television at home, supporters jammed pubs and hundreds of fan zones, sending thousands of pints of beer into the air when Bellingham put his country ahead in the 13th minute.
More than a million English fans are set to avoid work today, following 30 million pints consumed in bars and homes. Another eight million people are likely to work from home, according to experts.

BrightHR, which tracks absences for more than a million employees at 50,000 businesses, predicted a recurrence of the 128 percent sickness rise the day following England’s Euro 2020 Sunday group game.
Chief executive Alan Price said: “England fans are preparing to nurse sore heads after the Serbia match, with “Hangover Monday” on the way.”
