Wöber, who earlier scored an own goal that gave France the lead, quickly fell out of favor with Les Bleus’ supporters after his rough challenge sent their star player crashing headfirst into the board. Despite escaping a second yellow card for the unnecessary tackle, the Leeds defender was fortunate not to receive harsher punishment, while the French midfielder was lucky to escape with just a head wound.
