Conor Bradley, the Liverpool youngster, showcased his talent by netting both goals in Northern Ireland’s 2-0 victory over Andorra in Murcia. Bradley, making his first international start, scored in the 16th and 23rd minutes to secure a comfortable lead for Michael O’Neill’s side. Despite opportunities for Callum Marshall and Jamal Lewis, Northern Ireland couldn’t extend their advantage in the first half.
Although dominating possession, Northern Ireland couldn’t capitalize further in the second half, maintaining their lead but failing to increase their goal tally against a significantly lower-ranked opponent. The result concludes Northern Ireland’s warm-weather training camp positively, following a previous defeat to Spain, and marks their third win in their last five matches as they prepare for the upcoming Nations League campaign.
O’Neill made several changes to the team, including Bradley’s retention and Daniel Ballard assuming the captaincy. Bradley played a pivotal role throughout the game, creating chances and demonstrating his attacking prowess. His first goal came from a Marshall cross, followed by a well-timed header from Lewis’s deflected cross. Despite Andorra’s attempts to contain him, Bradley remained a threat, with Marshall and Lewis also coming close to scoring.
Northern Ireland maintained control in the second half, introducing new players like Ethan Galbraith and Aaron Donnelly. However, despite opportunities for Bradley and Ross McCausland, Northern Ireland settled for a 2-0 victory as Bradley was substituted late in the game, narrowly missing out on a hat-trick.
