Manchester United midfielder Casemiro has taken on a new role as an investor in Marbella FC, a recently promoted team now competing in Spain’s third-tier league.
In a recent announcement, Marbella FC confirmed Casemiro’s official involvement as a shareholder. The club, fresh from securing promotion to the Spanish third division, has quickly enlisted the support of a player who once donned the colors of Real Madrid in La Liga.
A spokesperson for Marbella FC remarked, “Casemiro’s inclusion in our ownership marks a pivotal moment for the club, propelling our brand and athletic ambitions onto the global football stage.”
Meanwhile, former Real Madrid player Esteban Granero, now serving as Marbella FC’s president, is spearheading plans for a new stadium, earmarked for an investment of approximately €115 million.
Expressing his excitement for the venture, Casemiro shared, “Joining Marbella FC is a privilege, driven by the club’s remarkable potential for growth. My family and I have cherished visits to Marbella, making it a place we aspire to call home. Together, we aim to foster grand ambitions and elevate Marbella to unprecedented heights.”
Despite having two years remaining on his contract with Manchester United, rumors suggest a strained relationship between the 32-year-old midfielder and manager Erik ten Hag. Reports allege that Casemiro feigned injury before the FA Cup final, resulting in his exclusion from the match squad.
Furthermore, Saudi Pro League heavyweights, notably Al Nassr, are reportedly keen on securing the services of the Brazilian star. Al Nassr, boasting former teammate Ronaldo among their ranks, is prepared to make a substantial financial offer to secure Casemiro’s release from his current contract.
