BREAKING: Manchester United are regarded frontrunner to sign Michael Olise could the winger depart Crystal Palace for the summer

Michael Olise, a Crystal Palace forward, is held in’very high respect’ at Manchester United, and the Red Devils ‘need’ a player of his calibre, according to journalist Dean Jones.

Jones feels Man United will be “very surprised” if they are not in talks to buy Olise during the upcoming transfer season and sees the Frenchman as a ‘diamond’.

Olise allegedly has a £70 million release clause that might be activated this summer, as numerous Premier League clubs remain interested.

Despite an injury-plagued season, Olise shone for Palace when he was available, scoring ten goals and assisting six in 19 Premier League games.

The winger, along with Jean-Philippe Mateta and Eberechi Eze, formed a dominant front three this season, but they are unlikely to return to Selhurst Park next season.

Man United currently has plenty of squad depth at Olise’s position, but Jones tells GIVEMESPORT that the Red Devils would not turn down a player of his calibre.

He said:

“Olise is a player who is highly rated at Old Trafford, and I would be surprised if they are not in talks to sign him this summer.

“A right-sided forward is not the most essential position to solve, but Olise is a standout, and his numbers prove it. You don’t want to pass up on sportsmen like these because of the impact they can have in the coming years.Image

“For decades, United fans have had players who could lift them out of their seats. They require another of them, and Olise is special in that aspect.

Erik ten Hag’s team has struggled for goals this season, scoring 58 in 38 Premier League games, the same total as Olise’s current club, Crystal Palace.

The signing of Olise would be a positive step forward for Manchester United next season. The Red Devils are apparently looking to develop around young players Rasmus Hojlund, Alejandro Garnacho, and Kobbie Mainoo, all of whom have impressed this season.
